Description: Harvest School | Querétaro, Mexico Located in the city of Querétaro, Harvest School is an educational institution dedicated to basic education, encompassing preschool, elementary, and middle school. The architectural design reflects this educational structure through a clear hierarchy of spaces and volumes that define the complex. The project is organized around a composition of interconnected, overlapping metal-clad volumes. Their distinct configurations establish a clear identity for each component, creating a functional and harmonious layout tailored to the specific needs of each educational level. The design incorporates flexible spaces that can be adapted to a variety of activities and learning environments. It also prioritizes materials such as concrete, steel, and glazed porcelain brick, complemented by native plant species that require minimal irrigation. This selection promotes durability and low maintenance while providing students with an enriching sensory experience through textures, colors, and interaction with nature. The project received First Place — Gold Medal at the 5th “Francisco Eduardo Tresguerras” Mexican Architecture Biennial, held on October 4 in the city of León, Guanajuato. The competition featured projects by distinguished architects from across Mexico, recognizing excellence in a range of categories, including healthcare, residential, cultural, industrial, recreational, and educational architecture.
